“The joy of helping a student pursue their education is far greater than anything we can receive for ourselves.”
PresidentKhalil Khalil
Khalil Khalil is the President and a founding member of PSSF, where he continues to dedicate his leadership and experience to advancing educational opportunities for Palestinian students. His lifelong commitment to community service, philanthropy, and education has been a defining part of both his professional and personal journey.
Born and raised in Palestine, Khalil completed his high school education there before continuing his studies in Puerto Rico and later in the United States. His international educational background helped shape his strong belief in the transformative power of education and its ability to create opportunity, empower individuals, and strengthen communities.
Khalil spent more than 30 years in the retail industry, building a successful career grounded in hard work, integrity, and entrepreneurial vision. In addition to his accomplishments in business, he previously served as Chairman of the Board of a startup bank, where he played an important role in guiding the institution during its formative years.
Beyond his professional career, Khalil has remained deeply involved in charitable and civic organizations for decades. He has served on numerous nonprofit and charitable boards and has consistently supported initiatives focused on education, community development, and humanitarian causes. His passion for volunteerism began at a young age and continues to guide his work today.
Among his many community contributions, Khalil was one of the founders and the first president of the Beit Jeez Kasla Society (BJKS), an organization established to preserve community ties, promote cultural heritage, and support families from his hometown. His leadership within the organization reflected his longstanding commitment to strengthening and serving the Palestinian community both locally and abroad.
As one of the founding members of PSSF, Khalil previously served as Treasurer for nine years before assuming the role of President. Throughout his years of service, he has remained focused on expanding the organization’s mission and ensuring that more Palestinian students have access to quality educational opportunities and the support needed to succeed academically and professionally.
Khalil firmly believes that education is the foundation of success and one of the most meaningful investments a community can make in its future. His vision for PSSF is to continue building a strong and sustainable institution capable of reaching and supporting as many Palestinian students as possible.
He also believes that true fulfillment comes through serving others. For Khalil, the joy of giving and making a positive impact on people’s lives far exceeds the joy of receiving, a philosophy that continues to inspire his leadership and community involvement.
